Football Game Preview: Champion Golden Flashes vs. Southeast Pirates

The Champion Golden Flashes will head out on the road to face off against the Southeast Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Champion is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight games on Friday. They came up short against LaBrae, falling 38-13. The Golden Flashes were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 21-0.

Meanwhile, Southeast played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 48-10 loss at the hands of Garfield. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 546th, while the G-Men are ranked 271st).

Southeast's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Champion, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 2-4.

Champion came up short against Southeast in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 22-16. Can the Golden Flashes avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
