Recap: Collegiate Cougars vs. St. Anne's-Belfield Saints
The Collegiate Cougars suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They were beaten by St. Anne's-Belfield 77-35. Collegiate was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-13.
Collegiate's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Olivia Tull, who scored 12 points. Abby Craig was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
This is the second loss in a row for Collegiate and nudges their season record down to 8-6. As for St. Anne's-Belfield, they pushed their record up to 9-2 with that win, which was their 20th straight at home.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Collegiate will take on Saint Gertrude at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for St. Anne's-Belfield, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Trinity Episcopal at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Trinity Episcopal is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.
