Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Ropes). They claimed a resounding  66-0 victory over the Smyer Bobcats. The Eagles have beaten the Bobcats the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Bobcats has come to flipping the script.
Ropes' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but  Zayden Pittman led the charge by rushing for 52 yards and three  touchdowns, while also throwing for 68 yards and a pair of  TDs on only six passes. Those  three  rushing touchdowns gave  Pittman a new career-high. Another rusher making a difference was  Jaivyth Cruz, who rushed for 97 yards and two  scores on only six carries.
 They were just one part of a punishing run game: Ropes was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 351  rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  rushed for at least 170  rushing yards in five consecutive  contests.
 Ropes didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of  Pittman and  Branson Simental. Ropes got some further help from  Victor Saenz: he made 14 total tackles (5.0 for loss).
Ropes' win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Smyer,  they are  on  a  four-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 1-6.
 Looking ahead, Ropes will face off against Sundown at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. As for Smyer, they will challenge Seagraves at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. The Eagles' defense has only allowed 9.7  points per game  this season, so the Bobcats' offense will have their work cut out for them.
