Softball Game Preview: Jay Royals vs. Chipley Tigers

The Jay Royals will face off against the Chipley Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Jay heads in on the heels of a playoff contest on Thursday. They lost 9-1 to Northview. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Royals couldn't push the score so high this time.

Meanwhile, Chipley fell victim to Holmes County and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Blue Devils, falling 10-0. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Tigers haven't been shut out since back in February.

Chipley's loss dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Jay, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-3.

Jay took their win against Chipley in their previous meeting back in April of 2019 by a conclusive 20-0 score. Will the Royals repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
