Baseball Recap: Stratton Takes a Loss

Stratton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Cheyenne Wells Tigers, falling 12-6. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Ricky Schillig put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. That stolen base marked the first that he snagged this season.

In other batting news, Von Isenbart made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-3. Nolan Notter also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Stratton's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Cheyenne Wells, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Stratton beat the Tigers by a score of 8-7 later that day.
