The result came thanks to Ava McLeod's shutout, as she gave up just four hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, Brooke Laudate and Madelyn Glynn did most of the damage at the plate: Laudate went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Glynn went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Laudate is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Sophia Hammell, who went 1-for-4 with one home run.
Meanwhile, Notre Dame Academy made easy work of Northbridge on Friday and carried off a 10-2 victory.
Erin Connor spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up nine Ks.
On the hitting side, Notre Dame Academy got a massive performance out of Ava Nelson, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Erika Larson was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
