Basketball Recap: Jaleel Vincent's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Bridgeport over Conotton Valley

Bridgeport suffered their closest defeat since December 3, 2024 on Saturday. They fell just short of the Conotton Valley Rockets by a score of 45-43. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rockets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Bridgeport lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jaleel Vincent, who posted 12 points along with six boards and five assists. Vincent is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jaki Threet, who put up nine points and five rebounds.

Bridgeport dropped their record down to 6-8 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Conotton Valley, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bridgeport will venture away from home to take on Frontier at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bridgeport is facing Frontier at the right time seeing as Frontier is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Conotton Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against Beallsville at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Conotton Valley will also cruise into their next match with the timing on their side: Beallsville will have lost 11 straight heading into Monday's contest.
