Recap: Harrison Raiders vs. Muncie Central Bearcats

The Harrison Raiders's game last Tuesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 59-15 win over Muncie Central. Given Harrison's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 138th, while Muncie Central is ranked 371st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Harrison was led to victory by Elsie Ahnert and Riley Whitlock. Ahnert scored 14 points along with six rebounds and four steals, while Whitlock dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds. Whitlock continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kiersten Guyer, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.

Harrison's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-10. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.7 points per game. As for Muncie Central, they are on a 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-18.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Harrison will square off against Benton Central at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Benton Central has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 267 points over their last four games. As for Muncie Central, they will head out on the road to square off against Kokomo at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Kokomo focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Saturday.
