Softball Game Preview: Ayden - Grifton Chargers vs. North Pitt Panthers

For the second straight game, Ayden - Grifton will face off against North Pitt. The Chargers will venture away from home to challenge the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ayden - Grifton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.

Last Tuesday, Ayden - Grifton got the win against North Pitt by a conclusive 15-5. The win continues a trend for the Chargers in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won six in a row.

Kenlie Guthrie made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Raelyn Jones was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Juliyanne Beaman also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Ayden - Grifton hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 5-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Ayden - Grifton's record now sits at 6-7. As for North Pitt, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.
