Softball Game Preview: Prairie Hawks vs. Cedar Falls Tigers

Prairie has won five straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Cedar Falls has won five straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Hawks will host the Tigers at 5:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Prairie 1.2, Cedar Falls 1.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.

While Prairie's win against Durant wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Hawks narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Wildcats 4-2.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Cedar Falls' offense. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (3-0), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. The loss was their first of the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Cedar Falls fell to 10-1. As for Prairie, their win bumped their record up to 5-0.

Prairie skirted past Cedar Falls 4-3 when the teams last played back in July of 2024. Do the Hawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
