Football Game Preview: Grandview Wolves vs. Cherry Creek Bruins + How To Watch

Two dominant backs in Chris Blanks and Jayden Fox are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Grandview Wolves will welcome the Cherry Creek Bruins at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Grandview is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Colorado's top teams: Eaglecrest, who was ranked 13th at the time (Grandview was ranked 14th). The Wolves narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Raptors 16-14. The Wolves haven't had any issues with the Raptors recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

The critical scores for Grandview came from Julian Savaloja and Blanks.

One reason for the win was Grandview's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Brody Flores was especially locked on to Eaglecrest's QB and sacked him twice.

Meanwhile, Cherry Creek put their dominant defense on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Friday. They didn't even let Smoky Hill on the board, marking the Bruins' second-straight 42-0 shutout. The Bruins might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by 23 points or more this season.

Grandview better keep an eye on Brady Vodicka. He was instrumental in Cherry Creek's win, throwing for 208 yards and two TDs on only 16 passes.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Cherry Creek proved: they limited Smoky Hill to a paltry 3.1 yards per carry. The Bruins didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 8.6.

Grandview now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Cherry Creek, their win bumped their record up to 9-0.
