Baseball Recap: Hampton Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Hampton Christian Academy extended their losing streak to five on Tuesday, dropping them down to 1-10. They came up short against the Broadwater Academy Vikings, falling 10-0. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2021.

As for Broadwater Academy, they now have a winning record of 7-6. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won seven contests by nine runs or more so far this season.

For Broadwater Academy's part, Teddy Seybolt looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Seybolt is becoming a predictor of the Vikings' success: when he allows at most three hits the team is undefeated (and 3-6 when he doesn't).

On the hitting side, Olsen Pruitt was a standout: he went a perfect 1-for-1 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Eli Destro was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

While Hampton Christian Academy had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
