Basketball Recap: Isaiah Martinez's Big Game Can't Quite Lead San Pasqual Valley over San Luis

San Pasqual Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 73-50 to the San Luis Sidewinders. The Warriors were not able to make up for their defeat to the Sidewinders from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

San Pasqual Valley lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Isaiah Martinez, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 17 boards. Martinez has been hot for a while, having posted nine or more rebounds the last 23 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Sisomphou, who went 6 for 9 en route to 16 points.

San Pasqual Valley's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for San Luis, the victory snapped their losing streak at 18 games dating back to last season and leaves them with a 1-14 record.

San Pasqual Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 62-37 defeat against Bagdad on the 24th. As for San Luis, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 75-45 loss against Kofa on the 28th.
