Football Recap: Pekin Piles Up the Points Against Van Buren County

Pekin put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 52-8 victory over the Van Buren County Warriors. 52 seems to be a good number for the Panthers as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.

Pekin's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Van Buren County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pekin will host North Mahaska at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will be up against the Warhawks' rather soft defense (which has allowed 26 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Van Buren County, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Wapello at 7:00 p.m. on October 10.
