Basketball Recap: NCSSM: Durham Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for NCSSM: Durham, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They walked away with a 59-49 victory over the Falls Lake Firebirds on Friday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 68-52 on January 9th.

Jay Peng continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 5 for 10 on his way to 13 points along with six assists and three steals. Alex Caza was another key player, putting up 12 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

NCSSM: Durham smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in February of 2024.

NCSSM: Durham now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Falls Lake, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. NCSSM: Durham will host Research Triangle at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. NCSSM: Durham is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.3 points per game this season. As for Falls Lake, they will be playing at home against Franklin Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Franklin Academy has three straight wins, Falls Lake has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
