Baseball Game Preview: Skyline Falcons vs. Frederick Golden Eagles

The Skyline Falcons will take on the Frederick Golden Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Skyline lost 17-6 to Holy Family on Monday.

Matt Lanier made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Sam Wright, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Meanwhile, Frederick fell victim to Holy Family and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They came up short against the Tigers, falling 7-0. The Golden Eagles' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Frederick saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex Clapp, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Frederick's defeat dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Skyline, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14-1 record this season.

Skyline took their victory against Frederick in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 12-6 score. Will the Falcons repeat their success, or do the Golden Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
