Softball Game Preview: Strom Thurmond Rebels vs. Greenwood Eagles

Strom Thurmond has gone a perfect 3-0 against Greenwood recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Strom Thurmond Rebels will be playing in front of their home fans against the Greenwood Eagles at 6:00 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Strom Thurmond took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Mid-Carolina 4-2. The four-run effort marked Strom Thurmond's lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Lawsyn Lowe was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played.

Meanwhile, Greenwood hadn't done well against Mauldin recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Greenwood had just enough and edged out Mauldin 15-14. The Eagles' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Strom Thurmond's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Greenwood, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.

Strom Thurmond took their win against Greenwood when the teams last played on Tuesday by a conclusive 19-4. Will Strom Thurmond repeat their success, or does Greenwood have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
