Basketball Recap: Eldon Starts Season with Victory at Home

Eldon gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They walked away with a 72-61 victory over the Capital City Cavaliers. For the Mustangs, this counts as revenge for the 68-52 win the Cavaliers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2024.

Corin Davis was a one-woman wrecking crew as she dropped a double-double with 19 points and 18 boards. Those 18 rebounds gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ali Byrd, who posted nine points in addition to eight boards and six assists.

Capital City's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Eldon will square off against Camdenton at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Capital City, they will face off against Father Tolton at 7:00 p.m. on December 3.
