Volleyball Recap: Franklin Wins Going Away Against Chavez + How To Watch

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lathrop, Franklin was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Chavez Titans with a sharp 3-0 win. The match marked the Yellowjackets' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Franklin never let Chavez on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-23, 25-21.

Franklin's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Karen Castro, who had 23 digs and three aces. Castro is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 13 or more in each of the last five games she's played. Jasmine Nieto was another key player, getting 12 digs and three aces.

They weren't the only good server: Franklin was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Franklin's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-3. As for Chavez, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

After both having extra time off, Franklin and Manteca will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Chavez, they will welcome Mountain House at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
