Baseball Recap: Fort Zumwalt East's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Fort Zumwalt East came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Howell North Knights 12-2. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won ten contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Carter Hollingsworth spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Carson Topping and Travis Hill did most of the damage at the plate: Topping got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Hill got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI Hill has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Sinner, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.

Fort Zumwalt East's victory bumped their record up to 19-11. As for Howell North, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-14 record this season.

Fort Zumwalt East will head out to challenge Howell Central at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Howell North, they will be playing at home against Parkway West at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
