Baseball Recap: Ben Holt College Prep Academy Beats River Islands for Their Third Straight Win

Ben Holt College Prep Academy entered their tilt with River Islands on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Riptide by a score of 11-6. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-7 on Monday.

Mariano Rodriquez made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits. Rodriquez was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Elias Gonzalez was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, five RBI, and one stolen base. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hunter Haynes, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs.

Ben Holt College Prep Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory got Ben Holt College Prep Academy back to even at 7-7. As for River Islands, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-8.
