Basketball Recap: Sandwich Comes Up Short

Sandwich was the 46-30 winner over Coal City when they last played one another back in January of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Sandwich Indians received a blow on Wednesday as they fell 57-40 to the Coal City Coalers. The Indians were down 50-25 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Sandwich is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-8. As for Coal City, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sandwich will face off against Somonauk/Leland at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Coal City, they will challenge Reed-Custer at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Coal City will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
