Mankato East strolled into their game on Saturday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They came out on top against the Cretin-Derham Hall Raiders by a score of 4-1. Those four runs were actually the fewest the Cougars have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Kylinn Stangl spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Emily Hacker was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenley Staunton, who earned two runs and two stolen bases.

Mankato East pushed their record up to 7-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Cretin-Derham Hall, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-4 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mankato East will face off against Mankato West at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cretin-Derham Hall, they will challenge Forest Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
