After having lost a blowout in their previous game against University School of Jackson, Northpoint Christian was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the St. George's Gryphons as they made off with an 11-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won 20 matches by seven runs or more so far this season.
Josie Beth Smith was excellent, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and one RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Ella Myrick was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one triple.
Northpoint Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 16 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for St. George's, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-11.
