Softball Recap: Timpview Comes Up Short

Timpview extended their losing streak to five on Tuesday, dropping them down to 3-7. They lost 10-0 to the Spanish Fork Dons. The game marked the first time this season in which the Thunderbirds were not able to get on the board.

As for Spanish Fork, they pushed their record up to 9-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games.

For Spanish Fork's part, the result came thanks to Anaca Olsen's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up 11 Ks. Olsen has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Lia Higginson was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Audrey Overturf, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Timpview will host Payson at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Spanish Fork, they will be playing at home against Juab at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
