Baseball Recap: Paul VI's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Paul VI extended their winning streak to four on Friday, bumping their season record up to 11-8 in the process. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Sterling Silver Knights. The Eagles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Silver Knights, too.

As for Sterling, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-5. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 14-6 Cherry Hill West (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 63.9% over those games).

For Sterling's part, they saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke Lomax, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Gavin McCormick also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Paul VI will square off against Cherry Hill West at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The Lions will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight. As for Sterling, they will face off against Holy Cross at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
