Softball Game Preview: Mount View Mustangs vs. Maine Central Institute Huskies

Mount View is 1-9 against Maine Central Institute since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Mustangs will face off against the Huskies at 10:00 a.m. Mount View has given up an average of 9.2 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Mount View is headed into Saturday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They lost 14-3 to Old Orchard Beach.

Emily Richards was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times she's played.

Erskine Academy hit Maine Central Institute with a four-run seventh inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Huskies fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 8-7.

Maine Central Institute saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emily Lawrence, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Mount View's record is now 2-11. As for Maine Central Institute, their record now sits at 5-4.

Mount View might still be hurting after the 11-0 defeat they got from Maine Central Institute in their previous meeting on May 3rd. Can the Mustangs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
