Football Recap: Waiakea Falls to Kalani in First Game of Season

Waiakea unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost to the Kalani Falcons at home by a 21-6 margin on Saturday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Abraham Alvarez Jr threw for 32 yards on four of 17 attempts.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Waiakea will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Ka'u at 1:00 p.m. on the 23rd. The matchup will give the Warriors their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Kalani, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Honoka'a at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
