Recap: Chipley Tigers vs. Bethlehem Wildcats

The Chipley Tigers lost to the Bethlehem Wildcats back in January of 2021, but the Chipley Tigers didn't allow the Bethlehem Wildcats the same satisfaction on Friday. Chipley put the hurt on Bethlehem with a sharp 46-23 win. Given Chipley's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 186th, while Bethlehem is ranked 406th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Marlee Sullivan, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Sadayah Hogan , who scored seven points along with four steals.

Despite the loss, Bethlehem still got an impressive performance from Hayden Pitts, who scored 13 points.

Chipley has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 7-7 record this season. As for Bethlehem, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

Chipley will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Walton at 5:00 p.m. Hopefully Walton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Friday. Bethlehem won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Altha at 3:30 p.m. on January 6th. Altha comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last five games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
