Basketball Recap: St. Joseph Christian Lions vs. Worth County Tigers

There's no place like home for the St. Joseph Christian Lions, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They came out on top against Worth County by a score of 52-41 on Friday. Given St. Joseph Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 151st, while the Tigers are ranked 500th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Worth County's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Riley Ridge, who scored 13 points along with two steals, and Kynah Steele who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. That was a full 34.1% of Worth County's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

St. Joseph Christian's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-6. As for Worth County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-17.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Joseph Christian will challenge the Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. South Holt is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Worth County, they will head out on the road to challenge the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
