League recap: Marion stuns Maquoketa in upset

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Marion, who took down 30th ranked Maquoketa, 25-14.

Solon was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fourth to first in 3A District 6. The Spartans defeated Central Clinton 18-14 earlier in the week.

Anamosa's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Connyr Lewis threw for 168 and three touchdowns and Josh Schulte had 100 yards receiving. On the ground Zach Neunaber chipped in 41 yards. Austin Holub helped Anamosa's passing attack out by catching one ball for 48 yards.

Anamosa's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Raiders feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Lewis has thrown for 693 yards and four touchdowns this season, while Schulte has 25 catches for 275 yards. Neunaber leads the league in rushing with 75 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Raiders take on Solon. As it stands, Anamosa is in seventh, while Kevin Miller's team is in first.

The Indians moved up to 37 from 86 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 3A District 6. Marion was able to make the jump by beating the Cardinals 25-14.
