Preview: Hamilton Heights Huskies vs. Maconaquah Braves

The Hamilton Heights Huskies will look to defend their home court on Saturday against the Maconaquah Braves at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in Hamilton Heights' favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last seven games.

Last Saturday, Hamilton Heights didn't have too much trouble with Western Boone on the road as they won 67-49.

Meanwhile, Maconaquah put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season last Friday. They blew past Peru 88-68. Given Maconaquah's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 108th, while Peru is ranked 224th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Maconaquah got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Josiah Ball out in front who scored 30 points along with eight assists and five rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Ball has scored at least a third of Maconaquah's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Fuddy Kile, who scored 23 points along with seven rebounds.

Hamilton Heights has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 7-8 record this season. As for Maconaquah, their win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3.

Hamilton Heights was able to grind out a solid win over Maconaquah in their previous meeting back in February of 2015, winning 70-57. Does Hamilton Heights have another victory up their sleeve, or will Maconaquah turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
