Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Lexington). They were the clear victors by  a  14-5 margin over the Franklin Lions on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won eight matchups by six  runs or more  so far this season.
 Taylor Akin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned  (and one unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  more than one  walk in seven consecutive appearances.
 At the plate, Lexington got a  massive  performance out of  Maya Bell, who  got on base  in all four of her plate appearances with one  home run, two  stolen bases,  and three  runs. The dominant performance also gave  Bell a new career-high in  RBI (three).  Averie Mathews was another key player,  going 2-for-5 with one  home run, three  RBI,  and two  runs.
 Lexington  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 16  hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  got at least eight  hits in eight consecutive  contests.
Lexington has  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record  this season. The  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Franklin,  the  loss snapped their winning streak at 14 games  and leaves them with a 20-3-2 record.
Lexington will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Lions: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled  at 6:00  p.m.  on Friday.
