For the first time this season, Albertus Magnus will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will square off against the Nyack Red Hawks at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Albertus Magnus' offense. They lost 8-0 to Tappan Zee on Tuesday.

Thomas Giardina was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Giardina was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played dating back to last season.

In other batting news, Nyack got a massive performance out of Nate Cantor, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those two runs gave Cantor a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Devin Bierfeldt, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Nyack always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .657. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Port Chester only posted an OBP of .167.

Nyack's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Albertus Magnus, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
