Baseball Game Preview: Musselman Applemen vs. Millbrook Pioneers

The Musselman Applemen will head out on the road to face off against the Millbrook Pioneers at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Musselman and Washington, and Washington kept the tradition alive. The Applemen fell 5-1 to the Patriots on Monday.

Musselman saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Wyatt McClintock, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Millbrook was able to grind out a solid win over Martinsburg on Tuesday, taking the game 6-2.

Millbrook is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Musselman, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

Musselman couldn't quite finish off Millbrook in their previous meeting back in March and fell 7-5. Can the Applemen avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
