Basketball Game Preview: Benton Bobcats vs. Clear Creek-Amana Clippers

Benton is 2-8 against Clear Creek-Amana since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Benton Bobcats will venture away from home to take on the Clear Creek-Amana Clippers at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Benton took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They took down South Tama County 39-24. The victory was some much needed relief for the Bobcats as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Clear Creek-Amana against Vinton-Shellsburg on Tuesday as the squad secured a 67-21 win.

Benton's victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-8. As for Clear Creek-Amana, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Benton suffered a grim 60-37 defeat to Clear Creek-Amana in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Can Benton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
