Basketball Recap: Chapin Extends Winning Streak to 15

Chapin came tearing into Friday's matchup with 14 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25.1 points) and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Burges Mustangs 84-43. The Huskies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 16 games by 21 points or more this season.

Burges' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Anthony Rubio, who posted 14 points and eight rebounds. Hayden Cordova was another key player, putting up ten points and five boards.

Chapin's victory was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 25-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 33.4 points. As for Burges, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-15.

Chapin will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against El Paso at 7:30 p.m. Chapin knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully El Paso likes a good challenge. As for Burges, they are taking a road trip to challenge Jefferson at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Burges is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.2 points per game this season.
