Baseball Recap: La Plata Comes Up Short

La Plata had lost six straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 3-12 to make it seven. They fell just short of the North Shelby Raiders by a score of 5-4. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

As for North Shelby, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. The victory made it back-to-back wins for they.

For North Shelby's part, their win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Cole Browning, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Cade Fallert was another, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Looking ahead, La Plata will host Paris at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for North Shelby, they will head out to challenge Bevier at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
