Baseball Game Preview: Jackson County Generals vs. Franklin Wildcats

The Jackson County Generals will challenge the Franklin Wildcats at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Jackson County will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.

While Jackson County didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Fleming County on Tuesday, sneaking past 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Generals have posted since May 13, 2024.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Wildcats on Tuesday. Franklin sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over Bath County.

Franklin let Liam Rebholz and Gregory Pearson run wild. Rebholz scored a run while going 2-for-4, while Pearson scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Franklin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bath County only posted a batting average of .240.

Jackson County pushed their record up to 9-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.2 runs over those games. As for Franklin, their win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-1.
