Volleyball Recap: Thunder Basin Wins Going Away Against Star Valley

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Thunder Basin had no problem doing just that on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Star Valley Braves as they made off with a 3-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Bolts in their matchups with the Braves: they've now won six in a row.

Thunder Basin had a senior duo take command as Reece McGrath had 30 digs and three assists and Traecyn Hilliard had 11 digs and two aces. Those 30 digs set a new season-high mark for McGrath.

Despite the loss, Star Valley had strong showings from Camryn Mackey, who had 18 digs, and Tayley Campbell, who had eight digs. Mackey has been hot for a while, having posted 11 or more digs the last 12 times she's played.

Thunder Basin's win bumped their record up to 23-6. As for Star Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-16.

Thunder Basin wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Kelly Walsh on the 7th. As for Star Valley, they have also already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against East on the 7th.
