Volleyball Game Preview: Saugus Centurions vs. Polytechnic Panthers

The Saugus Centurions will face off against the Polytechnic Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Saugus will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Saugus is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Pacifica Christian/Santa Monica as they made off with a 3-0 victory.

The match came down to the wire multiple times:two sets needed extra rallies to declare a winner. The final score came out to 26-24, 28-26, 25-13.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Wednesday Polytechnic sidestepped Santa Monica for a 3-2 win.

Polytechnic wouldn't go down easily and took Santa Monica into a fifth set where they got it done with a ten-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 27-25, 25-23, 24-26, 15-5.

Saugus' victory bumped their record up to 31-7. As for Polytechnic, their win bumped their record up to 17-5.

Everything went Saugus' way against Polytechnic in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, as Saugus made off with a 3-0 victory. Will the Centurions repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
