The home team had won the previous three meetings between Tucumcari and Santa Rosa, and Santa Rosa kept the tradition alive. The Rattlers came up short against the Lions on Tuesday, falling 14-4. The Rattlers have struggled against the Lions recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Tucumcari saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matt Gomez, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Tucumcari's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Santa Rosa, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 12-3.
