Baseball Recap: Sandy Creek Comes Up Short

Sandy Creek fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Thousand Islands on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They lost 11-2 to the Vikings. The Comets were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Vikings earlier this season, when they won 6-5.

Sandy Creek's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-3. As for Thousand Islands, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sandy Creek will face off against Belleville Henderson Central at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Thousand Islands, they will be playing at home against Sackets Harbor Central at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
