Basketball Recap: Schaumburg Christian Falls Despite Big Games from Giada Falco and Stephanie Tenuto

Schaumburg Christian came up into this matchup off a tough 23-point loss last Tuesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Families of Faith Christian Academy Screaming Eagles by a score of 35-32 on Tuesday. The Conquerors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Screaming Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.

Schaumburg Christian's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Stephanie Tenuto, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 15 boards, and Giada Falco, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds. Tenuto is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 24 games she's played dating back to last season.

It was another big night for Alexis Huizinga, who posted 22 points for Families of Faith Christian Academy. The dominant performance gave Huizinga a new career-high in points. Lilly Saltzman was another key player, putting up seven points.

This is the second loss in a row for Schaumburg Christian and nudges their season record down to 1-3. As for Families of Faith Christian Academy, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Schaumburg Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 40-37 win against Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Academy on the 6th. As for Families of Faith Christian Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 52-22 victory against Kankakee Trinity Academy on the 10th.
