Basketball Game Preview: Elite Academy Eagles vs. King's Academy Lions

The Elite Academy Eagles will venture away from home to challenge the King's Academy Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.

Elite Academy will head into Friday's contest hoping to keep the good times rolling: they had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 20-point drubbing they dealt Somerset Prep on Friday. Elite Academy blew past Somerset Prep 62-42. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Eagles have posted since December 7, 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Elite Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ladainian Brooks, who posted 16 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Levi Brown, who scored 15 points.

Meanwhile, King's Academy had just enough and edged John Carroll Catholic out 50-47 on Thursday.

King's Academy's win came from a few key players Elite Academy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Matt Mcpherson, who put up 16 points and seven boards. Another player making a difference was Ardin Jeanty, who earned 12 points along with five rebounds and three blocks.

King's Academy pushed their record up to 12-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points per game. As for Elite Academy, their record is now 7-8.

Elite Academy came up short against King's Academy in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 66-55. Can Elite Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
