Baseball Recap: Centerville Takes a Loss

After flying high against Apple Springs last Friday, Centerville came back down to earth. The Centerville Bulldogs lost 8-2 to the Groveton Indians on Monday. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Indians recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meetings.

Wyatt Clede put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Kolt Larsen was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-4.

Having lost for the first time this season, Centerville fell to 3-1. As for Groveton, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-2.

Looking ahead, Centerville will square off against Neches at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Groveton, they will face off against Slocum at 12:00 p.m. on March 18th.
