Softball Game Preview: South Bend Riley Wildcats vs. Northridge Raiders

The South Bend Riley Wildcats will venture away from home to square off against the Northridge Raiders at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.

South Bend Riley fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Carroll on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 8-4 to the Chargers.

South Bend Riley saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was KAELYNN HOWELL, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Northridge posted their closest victory since May 4, 2024 on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Jimtown, sneaking past 2-1. The win continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Jimmies: they've now won five in a row.

Addi Knisley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits.

South Bend Riley's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Northridge, their record is now 2-0.

South Bend Riley came up short against Northridge when the teams last played back in April of 2024, falling 7-2. Can South Bend Riley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
