Baseball Recap: Duncan's Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Duncan had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 16-6 margin over the Patagonia Lobos. Considering the Wildkats have won five matches by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Pablo Ruiz was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Ruiz was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ethan Hernandez, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. He has become a key player for Duncan: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 4-5 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Dayton Penry, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Duncan was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .364 or higher in three consecutive games.

Duncan's record is now 10-5. As for Patagonia, their loss was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-13.
