Baseball Recap: Shadle Park Comes Up Short

Shadle Park lost against Mt. Spokane on Monday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Highlanders took an 11-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats. The Highlanders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Matthew Pugh was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Evan Lafferty was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Shadle Park's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Mt. Spokane, their victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-2.

Looking ahead, Shadle Park will welcome Ridgeline at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Highlanders are facing the Falcons at the right time seeing as the Falcons are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Mt. Spokane, they are taking a road trip to challenge University at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Titans will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight.
