Baseball Recap: Crestview Comes Up Short

Crestview came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the LaBrae Vikings, falling 7-1. The Rebels were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Vikings earlier this season, when they won 6-3.

Crestview's loss dropped their record down to 8-11. As for LaBrae, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Crestview will take on rival Newton Falls at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Rebels are on a three-game streak of home wins, the Tigers a five-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind. Meanwhile, LaBrae is set to square off against their familiar foe Southeast at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Vikings 2.6, the Pirates 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
